Dr Abdul Quaiyum Ansari

Professor

Dr. Abdul Quaiyum Ansari is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, since 18^th August 2000. He has served the Department of Electrical Engineering in the capacity of Head of the Department for three years during May 2008 – May 2011. He has also served as Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science (March 2001 – August 2004), and as Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Information Technology (Nov. 2002 – August 2004) at Jamia Hamdard (Hamdard University), New Delhi. Prof. Ansari did his B. Tech. from AMU, Aligarh, and received the M. Tech. and Ph. D. degrees from IIT Delhi and JMI, New Delhi, respectively. His researches are in the areas of Computer Networks, Networks-on-Chip, Image Processing and Fuzzy Logic. He has published about ninety research papers in refereed International and National Journals and proceedings of International and National conferences. He is the recipient of the Best Paper Award at the Indian Science Congress held at New Delhi in 2001. Prof. Ansari is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India), the National Telematics Forum, India, and the IETE. He is a Senior Member of the Computer Society of India and the IEEE (USA). Prof. Ansari is currently the Chairman of the IEEE–Computational Intelligence Society, Delhi Chapter; Honorary Secretary, ISTE Jamia Chapter; and Faculty Advisor, ISTE-JMI Students Chapter.
