Specialization and Research Experience
Medieval Indian History. Doctorate in the History of Society and Culture of Braj Region in the 16th and 17th Centuries. Research experience of 18years. Worked on Noorul Haqiqat , an original source of Modern History written by Ahmad Ali Shah in 1860. It narrates important developments, post 1857.
Teaching Experience and courses taught
12 years of experience. Papers: History of Medieval India 1200 to 1556, History of Medieval India 1206 to 1707, The Medieval World: 5th to 17th Century, History of Medieval India 1556 to 1007, The Modern World: 17th to the 20th Century, Polity and Society in India: 1526 to 1950.
Current Research
Presently working on: Issues of Ecology & Animism in Religions & Cults of Medieval India 16th &17th C. and Socio-Religious issues in the Delhi Sultanate.

- I have translated and transliterated the Kashaful Baghaavat Gorakhpur of Ahmad Ali Shah; written in 1857-1860, from Urdu-Persian to English and written a detailed introduction to it. This work is being published by Rupa Publishing House, Ansari Road, Delhi.
Administrative Positions Held
Worked as the Warden of G.P. Girls Hostel of Jamia Millia Islamia from September 1999 to September 2008. Was designated as Senior Warden since 2005 and as Assistant Provost Hall of Girls’ Residence of Jamia Millia Islamia, from 2006 to 2008.
Cultural Activities Organized
Was nominated as a member of the Jamia Cultural Committee in the year 2003 and there after worked in the capacity of Convener of Debating Society/ Literary Society of the University till 2008. During this phase, organized a seminar on-Lessons from the lives of ten most Dynamic Women of Indian History. This was funded by the National Commission for Women, New Delhi. Besides this, organized many Essay writing, Poem writing and Elocution-Recitations competitions.
