Press Release: International Seminar on ‘Society, Gender and Media: Experiences from Kuwait’ at Jamia
The Gulf Studies Programme at India Arab Cultural Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize an International Seminar on “Society, Gender and Media: Experiences from Kuwait” on May 14, 2012 at 11 AM in the Conference Hall of India Arab Cultural Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia.
Prof. Hayat N. Al Hajji, Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, Kuwait University will speak on ‘Kuwaiti Media and Discourse of Democracy’ and Dr. Haila al-Mekaimi from the Department of Political Science, College of Social Sciences, Kuwait will speak on ‘Kuwaiti Women and Civil Society’ .
Prof AM Ramakrishnan, Chairperson, Centre for West Asian Studies, JNU and Mr. Kesava Menon, Former West Asia Correspondent, The Hindu will be discussants in the session.
Prof Shohini Ghosh from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC) will chair the session.
