Japan-India Cooperative Science Programme at Nanoscience Centre, JMI
Centre For Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Jamia Millia Islamia is organizing Japan-India Cooperative Science Programme (JICSP) to promote INDO-JAPAN collaboration in the area of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
A lecture series by eminent scholars from Japan will be highlight of this collaborative programme. Prof. Tamio Endo, Emeritus Professor, Gifu University, Prof Satoru Kaneko, Chief Researcher, Kanagawa Prefectural Government and Prof. Kiyoshi Uchiyama, National Institute of Technology, Tsuruoka College-Yamagata, Japan.
The Programme will be held at the Seminar Hall, Centre For Nanoscience and Nanotechnology on November 10 at 10:00 am.
Earlier, the Centre was inaugurated by Prof. S Ijima, Meijo University, Japan, the inventor of carbon nanotubes. Mr. A. P. Siddiqui, Registrar, JMI was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function which was attended by Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary Department of Science and Technology, Prof. C. Jagadish, Australlian National University, Prof. Vladimir Sur, Ural Federal State University Russia, Prof. Vladimir Pavelyev, Samara Aerospace University Russia, Prof. Emilio Parez from IMDEA Nano Centre, Spain and Prof S. S. Islam, Hony. Director Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
The Centre is equipped with a high-tech laboratory that has major characterization facilities for imaging and spectroscopy systems are housed. The Centre which is trying to popularise Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India had organised an International Conference on ‘Advances in Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology (ICANN 2016)’ from November 4-5, 2016.
