Press Release: OUP celebrates its Centenary Year Celebrations with Jamia Professor
Oxford University Press, India, is celebrating its centenary year by hosting Jamia Professor, M Asaduddin, Head, Department of English, Jamia Millia Islamia on July 20, 2012 at their showroom at 2/11, Ansari Road, Daryaganj from 3 to 5 PM.
Professor Asaduddin has published two books from Oxford University press, Delhi, namely, Filming Fiction: Tagore, Premchand andRay(with Anuradha Ghosh); Image and Representation: Stories of Muslim Lives in India (with Mushirul Hasan) and one from Oxford University Press, Karachi, namely, For Freedom's Sake: Stories and Sketches of Saadat Hasan Manto .
Professor Asaduddin is an author, critic and translator. His work has been recognized with the Sahitya Akademi Prize and the KATHA and A.K. Ramanujan awards for translation. He has lectured/led workshops at the Universities of Delhi, Cambridge, East Anglia, Chicago, Rutgers, New York, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
