Press Release: His Holiness Dalai Lama to Speak at Jamia
His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, will be on Jamia Millia Islamia campus today i.e. September 12, 2012.
During his visit to Jamia campus, His Holiness will deliver a talk on “The Importance of Non-Violence and Ethical Values” to Jamia students and faculty. Mr. Najeeb Jung, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia shall Chair his talk.
The talk is scheduled to be held today i.e. September 12, 2012 at 3 PM in the Auditorium of Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia.
His talk is expected to be attended by many guests from outside the university as also by students and faculty of the university.
Jamia had conferred the Degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) on His Holiness in its Annual Convocation in the year 2010. The Citation presented to the Dalai Lama had stated that “Jamia Millia Islamia honours His Holiness the fourteenth Dalai Lama of Tibet, one of the most respected figures and teachers of our times, who stands for rationality, humanism, non-violence, peace and universal benevolence.” The university looks forward to welcoming him on campus once again.
