Textbook Service
The Library maintains a separate collection of textbooks which can be consulted within the Library premises on deposition of Library Membership Card at the counter of Text-book Section. Within TBC there is a separate collection, called Overnight Collection, from where books can also be issued for overnight loan after 3.00 PM against Text Book ticket which should be returned the next day within two hours of opening of the Library, failing which an overdue charge of Rs.0.50 per hour per volume will be charged. A database of books available in Text-Book Section is available for consultation at the Text Book Section.
Reading Rooms Annexe
An area of 850 fts on two floors has been segregated from the library as independent reading rooms. The patrons of the Library as well as other authorized Library users can make use of the reading room with their own reading material and personal books which are otherwise not allowed in the Central Library.
Inter Library Loan Service
The Central Library offers inter-library loan service to its users for the books and periodicals not available in the Library by procuring them from other libraries within Delhi and outside Delhi. The Library, in turn also lends its resources to the libraries of other government and academic institutions.
The library is member of NISCAIR, DELNET, INFLIBNET, British Library, etc. The documents from outside Delhi are procured on Loan only if the user is willing to bear the expenses involved in it. The documents from Delhi are generally made available free of charge.
The Library users are given assistance in locating misplaced books. The users may fill-in the Location Books, available at the Circulation Counter and in the Serials Division, for books / journals not found by them. The Library staff makes a thorough search for the books / journals reported in the Location Books. The users are informed accordingly in due course of time.
Photocopy Service
The Reprographic facility is also available in the Library through private contractor. The Reprographic unit is located outside Library building, in front of TBC Gate. Any document can be issued for photocopy, unless covered under copyright law. Such documents are issued to Staff of the Reprographic Unit on their cards only. For any difficulty or assistance, the users may approach the Incharge of concerned Section.
Periodical Service
This Section is located on Ground Floor. It houses Current Issues of journals and has a separate reading facility for about 50 users. Bound volumes of journals of more than 5 years are stacked on Third and Fourth floor. To consult them, the user may contact Incharge, Periodical Section. It also collects Newspaper Clipping. In the year 2012-13, about 130 Foreign Journals and 100 Indian Journals are subscribed.
Reference Service
The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, technical data, almanacs, atlases, bibliographies, etc. The reference collection is organized subject wise.
Users may approach the Incharge, Reference Section for information or any assistance in the use of the Library Collections and Services. Users may contact the respective Incharges of the Sections for any assistance needed. For special information requirements, users may also reach the University Librarian.
Digital Resource Centre
Library has established Digital Resource Centre from May, 2003 through 2 mbps leased line to the members of the library. At present the service is available free of cost from morning 9.00 A.M. to 5.30 P.M. in all working days.
- Internet access is for BONAFIDE STUDENTS only.
- Internet use should be restricted to browsing Academic data bases only.
- The user should be familiar with Internet.
- Internet workstation can be used by only one person at a time.
- One hour is allotted for Internet use.
- Please be conscious of other waiting for their turn.
- Please do not tamper with the software.
- Requests for Internet access will be accepted as per schedule displayed on Notice Board.
- The University Librarian reserves the right to cancel the membership of any user found abusing the facility.
- Please cooperate with the staff & produce valid Identity Card on demand.
- No Chatting.
- It is our collective responsibility, as far as the safeties of the systems are concerned. Please bring to the notice of the University Librarian /Incharge User Services any misuse of the systems.
Membership Service
Userscan register themselves for the membership of the Library. All Students, faculty and staff members are issued bar-coded patron cards. Their entitlement, in terms of the number of books that can be borrowed by them, are as follows:

Membership Renewal
The Bar code shall remain valid for the period indicated on ID Card. The Users can get their bar code renewed by visiting membership section during working hours.
Checking out Library Documents
Registered Library members are allowed to check out Library documents as per their entitlement mentioned above. Reference Books, current issues of journals and bound volumes of journals are not issued out. Overnight books are issued from TBS from 3 PM onwards.
Renewals
Books issued to you can be renewed unless they are reserved by some one else. You need to bring the books to the Library for getting them re-issued.
Return of Documents
Documents checked out from the Library should be returned at the circulation desk, during its working hours, i.e. 9.00 PM to 5.15 PM on any working day. Books issued through the Text Book Section should be returned in the Text Book Section only.
Reserving the Documents
A library user can reserve a book currently out on loan by requesting staff at the Circulation Counter.
Loss of Books
The borrower is required to either replace the books with a recent edition, if available or pay its cost.
