Application Forms for Leave (Publish Date: 12/06/2006)

CIRCULAR
 
It is expected that all the employees of the Jamia Millia Islamia are conversant with Leave Rules applicable to them. But in some cases it has been observed that leave rules are not being followed in letter and spirit. Hence, for the information of all employees of Jamia Millia Islamia , it has become necessary to bring salient points of Leave Rules into their notice.. A few of them are as follows:
   
1 Leave cannot be claimed as a matter of right and when the exigencies of service so demand, leave of any description may be refused or revoked by the leave sanctioning authority. (Leave Ordinance VIII 22(2).
 
2 No Employees shall proceed on leave other than Casual Leave before it is sanctioned except in case of emergency and for satisfactory reasons (Leave Ordinance VIII 22(10)(a).
 
3 Except as otherwise provided and except under circumstances over which the applicant has no control, all application for leave other than Casual or Medical Leave should reach the Registrar at least fourteen days or seven days before the date from which the leave is applied for according as the period of leave exceeds or does not exceed seven days. (Leave Ordinance-VIII 22(8).
 
4 Casual Leave cannot be combined with any other kind of leave. It can however be combined with special casual leave, compensatory leave (LeaveOrdinanceVIII A(2) (6)/B13- (3),15(a).
 
5 Officials should inform the leave sanctioning authority before leaving station for more than 24 hours. This shall apply both for leave and holidays or vacations. The address at which the employee can be contacted will also be furnished. (Leave Ordinance VIII -22 (10) (d).
   
All the staff working in Jamia Millia Islamia is requested to adhere to the provisions of Leave Ordinance mentioned above.
