NOTIFICATION

This is to notify for information of all the concerned that the Executive Council in its Meeting held on 25.11.2008 vide its Resolution No. EC-2008 (V):9 on the recommendation of the Academic Council vide its Resolution No.AC-2008(VII):23 dated 17.10.2008 had approved the amendments in Ordinance 4 (IV) (Academic) dealing with the appointment of the Head of the Department of Studies, JMI.

The amendments in Ordinance 4 (IV) (Academic) as approved would now read as shown in the Annexure.

Existing Ordinance 4 (IV) (Academic)
Proposed Ordinance 4 (IV) (Academic)
Para 1: Each Department of studies shall have a Head who shall be a Professor, provided that if there is more than one Professor, the Head of the Department shall be appointed by the Shaikhul Jamia (Vice-Chancellor) by observing, as far as possible, the principle of rotation from amongst the Professors for a period of three years.
Para 1: Each Department of Studies shall have a Head who shall be a Professor, provided that if there is more than one Professor, the Head of the Department shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor by observing the principle of rotation from amongst the Professors according to seniority for a period of three years.
Para 4 : The Head of the Department shall hold the office for a period of three years or till attaining the age of 62 years, whichever is earlier.
