Dr. Aftab Ahmad is an Assistant Professor at India Arab Cultural Centre, JMI. His research interests include Arab-Islamic Culture, Arabic Language and Arab Literature, India-Arab Cultural Relations and Contemporary Arab Literature. He teaches several courses on Arab Culture, Arabic Language and Contemporary Arab Literature. He has published many research papers (both in Arabic and English) in national and international journals and presented papers in several seminars/conferences in India and abroad. He has translated several articles and books into Arabic.
Before joining Jamia, Dr. Ahmad worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) as an Arabic-English Interpreter and All India Radio (AIR) as a News Reader-Cum-Translator (Urdu) for more than five years. He has also worked with the National Technical Research Organization (NTRO), Govt. of India as an Arabic Linguist where he monitored Arab media particularly Arab satellite channels like Al-Jazeera TV and Al-Arabia TV and prepared reports on security and strategic affairs for Govt. of India
