Computing Lab

The Department has access to university’s LAN consisting of SUN 280R, Digital Alpha, Compaq Proliant1600, ML330, ML350 servers. The LAN caters to many important computing needs of the Department such as compilers of the popular programming languages, RDBMS softwares (Oracle, SQL server) communication facility, Internet facility. Department also has a LAN connecting all the labs, the seminar room and offices.

Server: Compaq Proliant1600 with Win NT OS, Itanium rx2620 with WIN 2003 OS, Xeon with WIN 2003 OS

Operating System: Windows NT, Red Hat Linux, Windows 98/XP

Software: Oracle-9i, Visual Studio.NET, compiler of various languages such as C, C++, Java, Star Office, Acrobat Reader and Writer, Photoshop, Turbo Assembler, Borland C++, MS-Office-XP, Studio MAX (Dream Weaver, Flash, Freehand)

Networking: The Department has LAN connecting various PC’s and Peripherals and Wi-Fi on 7 PCs.

Internet: The Department presently has Internet access through the University’s proxy server.

PCs: 59 Compaq Pentium IV PCs and 40 IBM PC300 and NetVista System.

Printers: HP-LaserJet 1005 series, HP-Scanjet, HP-Deskjet

Scanner: HP-Scanjet 4750 C , HP Scanjet 5590, CD Writer: Samsung, Omega , LCD Projectors.

SUN Lab: SUN V240 Server, SUN BLADE 150 Workstation, SUN RAM - two terminals, SUN ONE Software.

Wireless LAN: IEEE 802.11 b based Cisco Aironet Access Points , CISCO Wireless Adaptor PCI/PCMCIA , HP iPAQ 3950 PDAs.
