Radio Programme
OUR RADIO PROGRAM AT JAMIA RADIO FM 90.4
In collaboration with MCRC, SNCWS has initiated a radio programme entitled “Parwaz” (“flying high like a bird”) dedicated to issues concerning women. The radio Jamia 90.4 FM broadcasts this programme on the third Thursday of every month. The different episodes this year covered issues of women’s health and empowerment, such as “Women and HIV”, “Women and Heart Disease”, “Domestic Violence”, and “Women and Education”. “Parwaz” caters to the university audience and those living in the surrounding areas. Experts from the field of women’s issues and citizens concerned from the neighbourhood communities of Jamia and a large number of volunteers of SNCWS assists us and contributes towards its various episodes. Over a period of time, “Parwaz” has become a very interactive programme and many people especially women have approached us with their responses and suggestions. “Parwaz” has increased our visibility in the immediate neighbourhood of the university. In the coming year through “Parwaz”, we aim to focus on issues of women’s health and women’s work.
