Prof. Jawaid Ahmad Khan has a long experience in research (36 years) as well as teaching (Professor >15 years) working in prestigious institutes. He did PhD in Plant Virology from Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands (best agriculture university in world for seventh consecutive time), and MSc in Botany with specialization in Plant Pathology from Aligarh Muslim University. He has served government organisations in the capacity of scientists/university professor/Head/Hony Director. Currently, he is Professor at department of Biosciences, and Hony. Director at DDU Kaushal Kendra Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. To his credit, he has more than 80 publications, two books, guided (still supervising) 18 PhD scholars, mentored 07 post-doctoral scientists. They are holding important positions both in India and abroad.

Prof. Khan teaches Molecular Biology, Virology, Botany, Microbiology to PhD, MSc, BSc students. He is a recipient of grants from government of India agencies and executed and successfully completed research projects as Principal Investigators. He is well versed with the most modern scientific approaches employed in the areas of molecular biology, genetic engineering, transgenics and diagnosis of pathogens. He is on the Editorial Board of prestigious international journals. His research areas include RNAi (micro/siRNA), genome editing (CRISPR), transgenics, Plant Pathology, Plant Virology, Plant-microbe interaction, Plant Molecular Biology, Genetic engineering, tissue culture.
