Dr. Asif Umar is an accomplished and highly experienced Sr Assistant Professor of Hindi Litrature and Hindi Patrakarita.  Dr Umar is also Coordinator of PG Diploma in TV Journalism and Mess Warden of Kellat Hostel ( Dr Zakir Hussain Hall) with a remarkable academic and administrative career. With over fifteen years of teaching experience at Jamia Millia Islamia Central University, he has also served as a Guest faculty for Hindi. Dr. Umar's administrative expertise spans over eleven years, during which he held various significant positions within the university.

At Jamia Millia Islamia, Dr. Asif Umar currently holds the prestigious position of Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Hindi. He has also served as the Assistant Director at the Centre for Distance and Open Learning from October 5, 2012, to November 1, 2016 

He has also held various key responsibilities, including Course Coordiantor, P.G. Diploma T.V. journalism, Coordinator Centre for coaching and career planning Jamia Millia Islamia, Assistant Proctor at Jamia Millia Islamia and Warden of B.R. Ambedkar Hostel Jamia Millia Islamia.

Throughout his career, Dr. Umar has demonstrated his commitment to students' welfare and academic growth by serving as a P.G Counselor for Hindi at JMI IGNOU Centre and CDOL, JMI. During his current tenure as Course Coordinator, P.G. Diploma in TV Journalism approx. 200 students have been placed in various leading News Channels of the country.

Dr. Umar's involvement in organizing and participating in national and international seminars at various Central Universities showcases his commitment to advancing academic discourse and promoting knowledge sharing.

His dedication to research and literary contributions is evident through numerous published books, research papers, and articles. Additionally, he has been a regular columnist for prominent Hindi national newspapers. Dr. Umar's expertise extends beyond academia, as he has been invited as a panelist on various esteemed National news channels such as Zee News, ABP News, and others.

Dr. Asif Umar's contributions to the field of education and media have earned him prestigious awards, such as the Teacher's Excellence Award, 2022, by Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Prof. S.P. Baghel, by Shikshak Kalyan Foundation 2022 and the Young Faculty Award for Hindi media education by Shikhar Sansthan in 2019.

His outstanding achievements have been recognized globally, as he received the Mahatma Gandhi International Peace Award in 2017 and the Rajiv Gandhi Samaj Ratna Award in 2015. Notably, The Embassy of the Republic of Afghanistan also honored him for his remarkable contributions to higher education.
