Dr. Abid Husain is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Jamia Millia Islamia. He completed his Ph.D. in Psychology on the topic “Self Concept, Adjustment and Mental Health: A Comparative study of Public and Govt. School Adolescents” from Jamia Millia Islamia in the year 2008. He also pursued Post Graduate Diploma in Counseling Psycholgy (2003) and Post Graduate Diploma in Child Rights (2007). He started his career as a researcher and helped in establishing the HIV and Testing Centre in Jamia Millia Islamia. He also worked as a counsellor in ICTC, JMI. He was Academic Coordinator/Assistant Director in CDOL, JMI. With more than 15 years of research experience, Dr. Abid has supervised 35 dissertations and research projects at the post graduate level.  Under his supervision, two PhD scholars have Awarded  their theses(MS. Snigdha Sen & Ms. Apoorva Adhikariin the year 2023). Currently, there are 2 research scholars and 5 Masters Students under his supervision. He has published 12 research papers in both reputed national (UGC CARE listed) and international (PUBMED) journals. He has participated and organized 47 conferences, seminars, workshops and camps. He has been a key speaker and chaired 2 sessions in many of the conferences, seminars, training programs, webinars, and faculty development programs at both international and national level. He has also been invited to give lectures in foreign and Indian universities and institutes. Dr. Abid Husain is a member of Board of Studies, Maulana Mohammed Ali Johaur University, Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. He has counselling experience of more than 6 years. He has also been actively working as a Program Coordinator in National Service Scheme (NSS) at Jamia Millia Islamia since May 2024. He have Worked as Program officer in National Service Scheme (NSS) at Jamia Millia Islamia from March 2004 to May 2024. He has actively participating community work and Jamia community. He is a member of University Mental Health and Counselling Committee for Students and Staff during COVID-19. He is also been appointed as Assistant Dean Students Welfare (ADSW) at Jamia Millia Islamia since July 2019. He is a Coordinator, Swachh Bharat Mission, JMI. Dr. Abid Husain has received many appreciation awards from the MGNCRE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India and he have received Peas Ambassador Award IN 2006 from Universal Peace Federation of India ,
