II. Participation in the Academic Staff Training Programme /Refresher Course
- Attended two Academic Staff Training Programmes sponsored by the U.G.C., and organized by the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
- Co-ordinated the first U G C sponsored Refresher Course in Law, organized by the Academic Staff College, JMI, in February 2009.
III. Research Activities
- Assisted Prof. Gene Kassebaum, Professor of Sociology, University of Hawaii, in a research project on the Working of Lok Adalats in Karnataka, in India, under the auspices of the American Institute of Indian Studies, in 1989 - 90.
- Completed a Project under the Scheme of Prevention of Atrocities on Women, sponsored by the Department of Women and Child Welfare, Government of India, in 1992.
- Completed M. Phil. In Law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, 1993.

- Delivered an extension lecture on “Criminal Laws Relating to Women” as part of a Legal Awareness Programme, to the Faculty and students of the Daulat Ram College, Delhi University.

- Represented India, as a member of the Eminent Persons Group (EPG), headed by Justice P. N. Bhagwati at the Eminent Persons Group, "Regional Consultation on Refugee and Migratory Movements in South Asia" organized by the UNHCR, Geneva at Colombo, Sri Lanka and presented the paper on behalf of the Indian team on “The Contemporary Refugee Problem and the Concept of Asylum in South Asia”, in October 1994.
- Presented the paper on behalf of the Indian team on "Building a Regional Consensus on Asylum: the Indian Perspective" as a member of the EPG, at the ‘Regional Consultation on Refugee and Migratory Movements in South Asia’ at New Delhi, November 14 & 15, 1996.
- Addressed a group of 200 women in New Delhi on "The Crisis That Women Face Today and the protection under Criminal Laws", on February 9, 1997.
- Attended a "Regional Consultation on Refugee and Migratory Movements in South Asia" as a member of the Eminent Persons Group from India, at Dhaka, Bangladesh in November 1997 and presented the draft Model Law on Refugees to the members of the EPG being the Co-ordinator of the Committee to prepare the draft Model Law.
- Attended a Three day Conference of Scholars and other Professionals Working on Refugees and Displaced Persons in South Asia, held at Rajendrapur, Bangladesh from February 9 – 11, 1998.

- Member of a Committee of Experts, set up to discuss the introduction of a Course on Human Rights, IHL and Refugee Law, organized by the Bar Council of India and the Association of Indian Universities, in New Delhi.

- Organized and participated in a Symposium on "International Humanitarian Laws for Law Professors" at NIAS, Bangalore on August 6, 1994 (jointly organized by ICRC and ICHLR New Delhi).
- Organized and participated in a Symposium on "International Humanitarian Laws for Law Professors” at Calcutta on November 26, 1994.
- Organized a Seminar on "Protection of Refugee Children" in collaboration with the UNHCR at New Delhi on January 19, 1995.
- Organized and participated in a Symposium on "International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law for Law Professors" at Bombay on March 4, 1995.
- Organized and participated in a 5 Day Course on "International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law for Law Professors" at Barog, Himachal Pradesh from June 26 – 30, 1995 (Jointly organized by the ICRC, UNHCR and the ICHLR.
- Organized an intensive 5-day course on "IHL & Refugee Law" at Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu for 30 Law Professors from October 14 -18, 1996.
- Organized a Panel Discussion on "Asylum in International & National Laws" at New Delhi, on January 25, 1997 introducing the theme to the participants.
- Organized a Panel Discussion on "The Proposed International Criminal Court" for 65 participants at New Delhi on April 12, 1997, besides delivering the opening remarks.
- Organized a one day Orientation Course on "IHL and Refugee Law for Law Professors" and addressed the participants on "Refugee Law – Legal Framework" at Goa, on May 17, 1997.
- Organized a Panel Discussion on "The 1951 Convention on Refugees" and gave the Introductory Note, at New Delhi on August 30, 1997.
- Co-ordinated the setting up and the work of a Committee which was involved in attempting a draft Model Legislation on Refugees.
- Organized a Symposium on "IHL & Refugee Law" for Lawyers and Academicians at Nagpur on November 15, 1997.
- Organized a Panel Discussion on "Anti-Personnel Land Mines" to address Army Personnel, Policy Makers, Lawyers and Academicians at New Delhi on November 23, 1997.
