Brief Profile

Prof. Jasim Ahmad, Ph.D. (Edu), M.Ed., M.Sc. (Zoology), UGC-NET (Edu), is currently the Officiating Director, Academy for Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers (APDUMT), and a Professor at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, Jamia Millia Islamia. Previously he has served as the Hony Director, Centre for Distance and Online Education, Jamia Millia Islamia, Dy. Director-Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Principal, Jamia Senior Secondary School. Prof. Ahmad has a teaching and research experience of almost 25 years; his areas of interests include Science Education, Research Methodology and Teacher Education. He has published 25 books, some of them are from reputed International Publishers like Springer Nature, Sage, PHI Learning, Lambert Academic Publishing Germany, and ABS Books.   Some are from reputed Indian Publishers like Shipra, Vikas, VLMS Publications etc. He has published around 70 research papers in various journals, presented around 60 research papers in conferences, authored 26 Chapters in edited books and

16 Units as Self-Learning Material (SLM). He has delivered more than 250 invited talks and attended almost 100 workshops, and coordinated several training programmes. Fifteen Scholars have been awarded Ph.D. under his supervision and have guided around 60 dissertations at PG level.  He  has  contributed  to  the  university  administration in  many  capacities  like  elected member of the Academic Council, Nodal Officer (IQAC), Sr. Warden, Warden, Member of the Proctorial Team, Flying Squad Team, Asst. Superintendent of Exams, Coordinator- Curriculum Design Committee etc.   He has the privilege to be the external member of the Board  of  Studies  within  JMI  and  in  other  universities.  He  has  been  associated  with  the monitoring of Rashtriya Madhyamic Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Mid-Day Meal Scheme (MHRD, GOI), Adolescents Education Programme for Madrasas of Bihar sponsored by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). He has also made contributions in Govt. of India’s National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT) in the form of video lectures for ARPIT & SWAYAM Prabha. He was awarded ‘Proud Indian Eminent Professor Award 2022’ in Teacher Education by International Multidisciplinary Research Foundation (IMRF), Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of India’s 73rd Republic Day and on the eve of Teachers’ Day (5th September 2024), he was awarded with ‘SHIKSHA SEVA SAMMAN’ by Delhi  Teachers  University.     The  full  profile  of  Prof.  Ahmad  may  be  accessed  at:
