Sushant Ghosh is a Professor and Director at CTP, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, with over 30 years of academic experience. He was the University's first Director (Research) and founder Director of the Multidisciplinary Centre for Advanced Research and Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia. He was formerly an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics at BITS Pilani Dubai. His teaching and research focus on rotating black holes, black hole shadow, gravitational lensing, and Astrophysics. He has published 150 research articles in peer-reviewed journals. With national and international collaborators, Sushant has addressed some of the critical issues of black hole physics, focusing on theoretical and computational aspects in his ongoing project. The international community has received his work well, and the research is essential and of a high standard. It led to the presidential or visitor's award for research to him with his colleagues in 2015. He has ongoing research projects funded by DST, ICTP – Italy. He is also an Honorary Professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, since 2012, besides being a Visiting Associate of the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune, since July 2001. He is also a Fulbright Fellow and visited sixteen universities/colleges in the US. He received five IOP Publishing Top Cited Paper Awards in 2022 (4 Awards) and 2024 (1 Award). He was also Featured in the Standford list of the top 2% of scientists – for the years 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020. He also attended the MHRD – LEAP programme 2019 at the University of Virginia, USA.
