Jitendra Nath Misra has a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is a retired Indian diplomat, serving as ambassador in Portugal and Laos, and consul general in Ho Chi Minh City. He is an advisor to the government of Odisha on sports, and a visiting professor at Jamia Millia Islamia. He was an associate adjunct professor and research associate at Georgetown University, a visiting professor at University of Lisbon and Vietnam National University, and a lecturer at Jamia Millia Islamia. He has published in World Policy Journal, India Review, Nacao e Defesa, Strategic Analysis, India Quarterly and IDSA Journal, and has about 110 op ed columns in India, Thailand and Vietnam. He is the author of Power, Politics and Field Hockey, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Newcastle- Upon- Tyne (Under contract/ forthcoming).
