Dr. Aliva Mishra joined the faculty of MMAJ Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi in March 2012. Prior to that she was a Research Fellow in the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), Sapru House, New Delhi. Besides, she also worked as Researcher & Liaison Officer for the JIJI Press, Japanese news Agency for three years between 1996 and 1999. She did her Master in the Centre for Historical Studies (CHS) , Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and M Phil & PhD in the School of International Studies (SIS), JNU. She has published a research article entitled “Islamic Fundamentalism in South Asia: A Comparative Study of Pakistan and Bangladesh” in India Quarterly, a referred Journal of the ICWA in September 2012. Two of her articles, “The Phenomenon of Suicide Terrorism in Pakistan” and “India-Afghanistan Strategic Partnership” were published in Issue Brief, Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi, 1 December 2011 and View Point, ICWA, New Delhi 10 October 2011 respectively. She was one of the editors of the book entitled International Intervention in Afghanistan: Motives and Approaches, New Delhi, Shipra Publications, 2012. She is currently working on her book Islamic Fundamentalism in Pakistan and Bangladesh, 1980 – 2014. Apart from presenting seminar papers in national and International Seminars/Conferences, she has also offered two M Phil courses at the Academy and taught in the Conflict & Peace Studies Centre, JMI for one semester. She was selected to participate in the Conflict & Peace Studies Course, International Summer School Programme organized by the University of Oslo, Norway, 28th June to 8th August, 1996.
