Dr. Sarah Hussain is a Professor and currently the Head of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She has also served as the Principal of Banrsidas Chandiwala Institute of Hotel Management, GGSIPU, New Delhi. With 27 years of outstanding experience in both industry and academia, she has worked with organizations such as the Taj Group of Hotels, Times of India, Times Warner Group, Berggruen Education, BCIHMCT, and Jamia Millia Islamia.

An alumna of the prestigious Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer, and the Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad, she holds a Master’s Degree in Hotel Management and a Ph.D. in Hospitality. Prof. Sarah has been imparting hospitality education since 2008. She has numerous research articles published in reputed academic journals and books, including five edited books, along with several articles in hospitality industry magazines. She has served and continues to serve as an editor and editorial board member for various journals in tourism and hospitality.

She teaches Research Methodology to PhD scholars and various courses in hotel management programs, including Revenue Management, Front Office Operations and Management, Events Management, Hospitality Sales and Marketing, and Business Communication. Her research interests include women guests/travelers, women employees, guest satisfaction, service quality, metaverse, AI, and environment management.

Dr. Sarah is an active member of various national and international professional bodies, including the India Hospitality Congress, Indian Tourism and Hospitality Congress, Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR), Trainers Forum – the largest trainers network in India, Hotel and Hospitality Media, Networking and Career, and Hotel Industry Professionals Worldwide. She also serves as an advisory member of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WICCI) Hospitality & Tourism Council, NCR.
