I have been working as a Head of the Department of Teacher Training and a professor of education at IASE, Faculty of Education, since 2012. I have three decades of experience in the field of teacher education. Fields of Specialization include  Educational Psychology, Educational Technology, ICT, Guidance and Counselling, Home Science Education, Early Child care Education, and Distance and Online Education. Taught at Lady Irwin College affiliated with Delhi University, DPSIHE affiliated with GGSIPU before joining IASE in 2002 as a lecturer in Teaching Home Science. In 2006, I became a Reader in In-service Education through Direct recruitment and was later promoted to Professor through CAS. I completed four externally funded research projects in ICT in Education and one in ECCE, and I guided twenty-six PhDs(awarded) and three ongoing PhDs. Recipient of  JRF and SRF from UGC while pursuing PhD and also Intel’s National award in 2004 for Integration of Technology. Recipient of merit scholarship while pursuing MEd and  Watts Memorial Medal in 1991 from the University of Kerala. 

Contributed to academia as a member of Departmental Advisory Boards of NCERT, Programme Advisory Committee of SCERT, Member of Board of Studies of University School of Education, GGSIPU, Faculty of Education of SGT University, Gurgaon, Haryana, and Mizoram University, Mizoram and Departmental Research Committee of School of Education, IGNOU & BPS IInstitute of Teacher Training and Research, BPS Mahila Vishwa Vidyalaya, Kalan, Sonepat .and Member of Virtual Expert committee of UGC DEB.

Delivered several invited talks as a resource person in in-service programs organised by Academic Staff Colleges, DIETs, SCERT, Delhi, NCERT and KVS. Chaired many conference sessions, acted as an expert in several panel discussions, coordinated in-service programmes, presented many papers at conferences, authored many books, wrote many journal articles, reviewed and edited research journals and reviewed content developed by NCERT, IGNOU and NIOS. I evaluated many PhD theses from different universities and also conducted PhD Viva as an external expert. Acted as a member of the Jury for the NILE Leadership Award 2014, as well as debate competitions, essay competitions, and cultural competitions in several interschool competitions. 

I was a course coordinator of BEd(General and Nursery education ) and  MA Education programmes. I also acted as a timetable in charge and assistant examination superintendent. I was a member of the admission committee and cultural committee of Jamia. The founder and Honorary Director of Gerda Philipsborne Day Care Centre at Jamia Millia (2007-2010) later worked as Honorary Director of Gerda Philipsborne Day Care Centre and Mushir Fatima Nursery School from June 2016 to Sept 2017. I also acted as nodal officer for Unnat Bharat Abhiyan of JMI.Hony. Director Schools(Evening Shift) and Bridge Course from June 2019. I was the deputy provost and later provost of J&K Girls Hostel in Jamia Millia. I was Hony—Director of the Center for Distance and Online Education. I am head of the Department of Teacher Training and Non-formal Education.
