Dr Abid Haleem is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University by an Act of Parliament) in New Delhi, India. He has an additional Charge of Residential Coaching Academy, JMI, as Professor In-Charge, a centre of national repute for Civil Services.

Has started MBA (Evening) program at JMI for in-service executives and ran it successfully for 14 years. As first Honorary Director, founded Internal Quality Assurance Cell of JMI, initiating the Assessment & Accreditation of the JMI and successfully leading NAAC and Global Rankings.

Has been an Honorary Visiting Professor at IIT Delhi. His teaching and research areas include Supply Chain Management, Halal and Green Supply Chains, Additive Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Healthcare Technologies and their management, Innovation, Technology Management, Sustainability, and allied areas of Engineering Management.

Professor Haleem is acknowledged in the list of top global scientists (Elsevier & Stanford) top 2 % since 2019. In 2021, globally ranked in the top 0.4 %; in 2022-23, globally ranked 10175. In 2023-24, has a global rank of 4089. Presently is a Regional Editor at Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management (Springer); Associate editor with JCOT (Elsevier), MAPAN (Springer), and Journal of Orthopaedics (Elsevier), Guest Editing with a few Scopus / SCI-indexed journals.

With more than 572 published research items in Google Scholar /ResearchGate, having 353 plus Scopus Indexed papers, 191 plus SCI papers Conferred with the fellowship of AGBA and has professional & life membership of IIIE, ISME, ISTE, GIFT, SCL, IICC, and ISC. Served as President and Secretary to Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management and AGBA. Has undertaken consultancy work with DFID, Govt. of Odisha, Ed. CIL, etc. Worked as a High Court-appointed arbitrator for large construction projects at DIAC, New Delhi. Executed various research and support projects of DST, AICTE, UGC and FIST.

Independent Director on the Board of Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. and advisor to DTDC Ltd. Has been a member of the Ad hoc Task Force (ATF) of PMG of Cabinet Secretariat of Govt. of India. He is on the advisory/research boards of various institutions/universities and is involved in multiple institutional activities related to policy planning, administration, accreditation and recruitment in national and international institutions.
