Dr Abid Haleem is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University by an Act of Parliament) in New Delhi, India. He has additional Charge of Residential Coaching academy, JMI as Professor In-Charge.

Has started MBA (Evening) program at JMI and ran it successfully for 14 years. Also founded Internal Quality Assurance Cell as the first Honorary Director, thereby initiating the process of Assessment & Accreditation of the JMI and successfully leading NAAC.

Has also been an Honorary Visiting Professor at IIT Delhi. His teaching & research areas include Supply Chain Management, Halal and Green Supply Chain, Additive Manufacturing, Healthcare Technologies and its management, Innovation, Technology Management, Sustainability, and allied areas of Engineering Management.

Professor Haleem is acknowledged in the list of top global scientists (Elsevier & Stanford) top 2 % since 2019. In 2020, has a global rank in the top 0.4 % and In 2022-23, has a global rank of 10175. Presently is Regional Editor Global Journal of Flexible Systems Management (Springer); Associate editor with JCOT (Elsevier), MAPAN (Springer), and Journal of Orthopaedics (Elsevier), Guest Editing with a few Scopus / SCI-indexed journals.

Conferred with the fellowship of AGBA and has professional & life membership of IIIE, ISME, ISTE, GIFT, SCL, IICC, and ISC. Also, served as President and Secretary to Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management and AGBA.

He has undertaken consultancy work with DFID, Govt. of Odisha, Ed. CIL, etc. Worked as a High Court-appointed arbitrator for the construction projects at DIAC, New Delhi. Executed various research and support projects of DST, AICTE, UGC and FIST.

Independent Director on the Board of Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. and advisor to DTDC Ltd. Has been a member of the Ad hoc Task Force (ATF) of PMG of Cabinet Secretariat of Govt. of India. He is on the advisory/research boards of various institutions & universities and is involved in multiple institutional activities related to policy planning, administration, accreditation and recruitment in India and other international institutions.
