Prof. Qamar Irshad is the Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He is currently also heading the Department of Design and Innovation at JMI. Previously, he served as the Head of the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Architecture & Ekistics at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India.

Prof. Irshad specializes in Ekistics, a multidisciplinary field focused on the study of human settlements in their entirety. He earned his Ph.D. with a dissertation on “Assessment of Quality of Life in Cities”. He graduated as an architect from the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University, India.

With over 24 years of professional experience, Prof. Irshad has been actively involved in institutional consultancy and has contributed to various architectural and planning projects. He has edited two books and published numerous research papers in reputable national and international forums. He has also delivered invited and plenary lectures at various symposia.

Prof. Irshad is a member of several esteemed national and international organizations, including The World Society of Ekistics (Athens), the Indian History Congress, and the Indian Institute of Architects (Fellow).
