Danish Iqbal is a professor at AJKMCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia, with a prolific writing and production career spanning theatre, film, radio, and academia. A Gold Medalist in Philosophy and UGC NET-JRF scholar, he has been honoured with 15+ National Awards, including the Ghalib Award, Mohan Rakesh Samman, Nat Samrrat, Lassa Kaul Award, Gandhian Philosophy Award, Best Drama and Excellence in Arts & Media (Lifetime Achievement 2021).
Renowned for scripting 41+ stage plays—from Dastan-e-Ram (Poetic Dance Drama) to Anti-National Ghalib—his works have graced international venues like London’s Westminster Chapel and Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival. A pioneer of Neo-Dastangoi scripting, he directs ongoing performances like Daastan-e-Gandhi and Daastan-e-Mahabharat, blending tradition with contemporary narratives. He shaped FM broadcasting scene of India since its inception and commissioned FM Gold Channel. Along with all this, he also produced 700+ Radio Plays based on puranic & literary classics for All India Radio’s regional & national programmes.
As a mentor for PM’s YUVA Scheme and Honorary Fellow at ISB Hyderabad, he bridges academia and creativity. His documentaries (India Wins Freedom), podcasts (Dastan-e-Bollywood), and collaborations with BBC, Zee TV, and UNESCO & Unicef reflect his versatility. He specialises in biographies and related content.
