Dr. Nazish Hena Khan is an Assistant Professor (Journalism) at the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. She holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication with specialization in Corporate Communication from University School of Mass Communication, GGSIP University, New Delhi and PhD in Mass Communication from Central University of Jharkhand. She was awarded UGC Junior Research Fellowship in 2011 which was later upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship in 2014.

Before joining Jamia Millia Islamia, she served as the founding faculty of the Department of Journalism at Bharati College, University of Delhi, where she worked for more than eight years and contributed to curriculum development, departmental growth and various academic committees. She has also taught as Visiting Faculty at Kamala Nehru College and Delhi School of Journalism, University of Delhi and has facilitated courses at Central University of Jharkhand.  Her earlier professional experience includes content editing and copywriting roles at Innodata Isogen Pvt. Ltd. and Draft FCB Ulka Advertising. She has served as Assistant Editor of The Research Post, an international journal of social sciences and humanities. Her academic contributions include research papers published in national and international journals and presentations at a range of academic forums.

As a resource person, she has conducted workshops on digital photography, media writing and contemporary media practices. She has also undertaken specialised training in digital photography, media research, film appreciation and sound techniques through programmes at the Delhi School of Photography, ICSSR, UGC, FTII and NSD. Her teaching and research interests span Cross-cultural Communication, Photojournalism, Development Journalism, Visual Communication, Advertising Research and New Media along with emerging interdisciplinary perspectives that are shaping contemporary media and communication studies.
