Dr. Sajjad Ahmad is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia since 2019. He has served as Educational Consultant to the Government of India, at the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), New Delhi; a lecturer/Assistant Professor at Delhi Teachers Training College, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi; Assistant Professor at Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi; Assistant Professor at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College for Women, University of Delhi; Assistant Professor at Zakir Hussain College, University of Delhi; Research Associate at Developing Countries Research Centre, University of Delhi and Research Associate at Society for All Round Development (SARD)- a Voluntary Organization working in the field of Education and Health, served as a Trained Graduate Teacher in a residential school and has remained a Visiting Fellow, School of Open Learning, University of Delhi for the development of e-Content in Education- prior to his joining at the Department of Educational Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia. His area of expertise is pedagogy of History and Social Sciences, Educational Policy, Planning & Administration, Social Exclusion & education and Education of the Marginalized.

A Master in History, Dr. Ahmad has completed his B.Ed., M.Ed., M. Phil. and Ph. D. in education from Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi. He has remained actively involved as expert/resource person with SCERT, DIETs, UGC-HRDCs, Teaching Learning Centres (TLC), & Faculty Development Centres (FDC) and other institutions of learning across India. He has delivered lectures and presented papers in different seminars and conferences organized across states of India. He was elected as a Joint Secretary, CIE Alumni Association from 2010 to 2017. His publications include research articles, in national and international journals, book, and chapters in the books.
